Safety

We will follow the safety guidelines of our host institution, UCSB. These guidelines are subject to change depending on the trajectory of the pandemic.

A summary of these guidelines is below.

Vaccine Requirement

All participants, TAs, and lecturers are required to be fully vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus via a WHO-approved vaccine regimen. You must have proof of vaccination to participate in the summer school. Learn more about UCSB's vaccine requirements here.

Masking Requirement Recommendation

As of March 19, 2022, indoor masking is strongly recommended, but not required. Note that as of July 25, 2022, the CDC categorizes Santa Barbara County as an area with high community levels of Covid-19, and thus recommends that all people, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks indoors.

Screening Requirement

While visiting campus, visitors may be asked to complete a COVID-19 symptom screening in order to access campus facilities. Upon completing the survey, they will receive a clearance badge that tells them whether they are allowed to enter campus facilities.

Visitors and non-campus affiliates may use the On Demand screening survey.

A green email badge indicates clearance to be on-site. Those whose daily survey responses suggest symptoms of COVID-19 and/or recent exposure will receive purple badges, indicating they are not cleared to be on-site.
